Now in its fifth year, Calderdale Safeguarding Week is back for 2019 with a packed programme of events and activities aimed at raising awareness about abuse and safeguarding issues.

In addition to events for professionals working with children and adults at risk, there will also be a programme of events and activities that anyone can attend, emphasising one of the key themes of the week, ‘Safeguarding is everyone’s business’.

This year’s theme ‘See me, hear me, know me – make safeguarding personal’, promotes ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ and the importance of listening carefully to people to understand what they need from services.

Professionals from across the partnership will be hosting an information ‘market stall’ on Saturday 29 June at Halifax Food and Drink Festival to provide information about the types of abuse that can affect children and adults at risk, what to do if concerned and which agencies work in Calderdale to safeguard children, families and older people.
